About Our Hernando PAC

The School Board of Hernando County asked voters to approve a 1 mill increase in the property millage rate to recruit and retain quality teachers, keep students safe and expand successful academic and career and technical programs. Early polls showed 64% voting against it, and the Political Action Committee lacked funding to implement an expansive campaign.

Goal: Community Reach & Stakeholder Engagement.
Results: 62% of voters approved the additional property tax to increase teacher salaries, hire a School Resource Officer at every school and expand successful academic programs, including career and technical courses. Group 442
